It is inevitable that planning a wedding means making a lot of preparations and decisions. However, things happen which cannot be controlled so plans and decisions on an upcoming wedding have to be changed. Work emergencies, natural calamities, family issues and any other factor that have to be sorted out first necessitates that you postpone your wedding. When any of these happens, set out to work immediately especially if you had spread the word on your big day already and had committed to any schedule.
If possible, secure another venue and wedding date. Wedding vendors tend to be very understanding with these kinds of situations so you just have to explain why and they will gladly arrange another schedule with you.
Talk to your officiant, wedding planner, bridal party and families with the changes so that they can also adjust their own plans. Log in to your wedding website or blog to update everyone about the changes of your wedding. Include all the details of the changes of your wedding celebration such as the date, venue, and any other information that everybody should be aware about.
Email or call each of your guests who are based out of town so that they can also cancel their flights or any travel plans. Enlist the help of your maid of honour, bridesmaids, family and close friends so that everybody in the guest list will be notified as soon as possible.
After that, send the new invitations that come with a different design to let them know that it is the final one. With new details on your invitations, guests are still going to make it and be thrilled for your upcoming wedding.
