Not only will friends and family want to coo over your wedding photos, they’ll want to savour your honeymoon snaps too. With instagramming pics back home of ‘this is me on a lilo’ and ‘this is me on the sunlounger’ in mind, we asked make-up artist Amanda Bell for her beach beauty must-do’s:
DO start by applying a light layer of liquid bronze glow. ‘Look for a tinted spf for the most natural looking J-Lo glow under the sun.’ Try Garnier Ambre Solaire BB Cream Sun Protection 30, £15.99, which tints and evens out your skin tone as it protects.
DO dab some champagne tinted cream highlighter in the inner corners of your eyes. ‘It’s amazing how it can open up your whole eye area.’ For sunlit photographs, try skimming some across your cheekbones, between your boobs and along your shins too. Amanda loves Pixi Glow to Go, £16.50, a cute compact housing four tinted radiance balms.
DO wear waterproof mascara. ‘I’d go for a blue/black shade which, if you were knocking back cocktails the night before will make the whites of your eyes pop.’ Plus it’ll withstand a sudden sea dunking from your hubby. You gotta love YSL Waterproof Luxurious Mascara for a False Lash Effect in Majorelle Blue, £23.50.
DO define your eyebrows. ‘They’ll look really groomed on camera if, after applying your waterproof mascara, you wipe the wand in a tissue then swipe whatever’s left on the brush across your brows.’
DO wear a subtle coral stain across your cheeks and lips. ‘As a half warm, half cool colour it’s universally flattering for every skin tone, at every stage of your beach time – whether you’re first-day pale or nicely browned,’ she says. Try Pixi Succulent Lip Twin in Coral Camellia, £12, which combines a lip and cheek crème duo.
