As love is in the air with each wedding celebration, we feature below three ideas for double destination weddings where you can have urban excitement and then head to the beach for a serene relaxation. Below are some suggestions compiled from YouandYourWedding. As early as now, plan out the best venue among the three and decide with your fiancée which places to pick.
1. Hong Kong & Bali
City of love: Hong Kong
Boat tours head out into Victoria Harbour day and night and it’s the perfect way to drink in the sights of the city away from its frenetic narrow streets. But you can’t stay away from Hong Kong’s heartbeat for long. Shopping is almost the national sport here and you can pick up everything from designer bags to dragon’s beard candy.
Beach paradise: Bali
Indonesia’s temple to tourism is bursting with… well, temples and tourists, yet its popularity doesn’t detract from its romantic honeymoon appeal. A land of traditional dancing and colourful festivals, the sunsets here are legendary, the surfing awesome and you can flip between fine dining in a luxury hotel to fresh fish grilled at a beach shack.
2. Bangkok & Koh Samui
City of love: Bangkok
Thrill number one in this energy-charged metropolis is coming in to land above the miles of twinkling lights that make up Bangkok. The sizzling street flavours of Thailand’s first city hit you instantly, and with traders selling snacks on sticks at every corner, there’s a steady supply of delicacies as you wander through the lively markets.
Beach paradise: Koh Samui
This beautiful island is not the little-known hippy haven it once was, but travellers flock there for a reason. Buzzing nightlife, serene snorkelling and fun island safaris all add to the appeal of what is, let’s face it, a little bit of paradise on earth.
3. Kuala Lumpur & Langkawi
City of love: Kuala Lumpur
Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur (KL to its fans) has been called the first cyber city of Asia, with some of the tallest cloudscrapers in the world, yet beneath the sci-fi exterior lies a rich heritage with temples, mosques and a lively mix of cultures and languages.
Beach paradise: Langkawi
Head to the archipelago of Langkawi next for a coastline that was clearly created for honeymooners – powdery beaches and emerald rainforest backdrops with lively bars and restaurants if you want them, and long shore-side walks if you don’t.
