Once the wedding invitation has arrived, a lot of wedding guests start pondering about what they should wear on your big day. Others begin to scan through their closet to find the perfect dress that will match with the theme of the nuptials. Some even find it truly hard to figure out what will be perfect and apt to wear. As a result, a number of guests end up overdressing for a beach wedding or underdressing during a church wedding. To avoid such scenario and to spare your guests from spending so much with an inappropriate outfit, it is essential to orient your family and friends with the guest dress code.
As we all know, there are many considerations in making a dress code. If you are going to have a summer wedding, for instance, you should not let the visitors don long sleeves and other hot clothes. On the other hand, if you are going to have a beach wedding, give your guests a heads-up on what your clothing preferences are. If you want to be the only girl wearing white on your marriage ceremony, why not indicate that in the invitation so that no other woman will wear something similar to yours.
It is your wedding so never feel awkward to provide your guests an idea of what the dress code will be. Just make sure that you have included the instruction in the invitation. If you want, you can even provide some sample fabrics that they can use to tailor their attire. You can also make a follow-up on this by calling your guests and asking them how they feel about the dress code. Offer help and suggestions if needed. That way, you can be sure that all of your wedding guests will abide by the dress code that you require on the most important day of your life.
