Peek Inside Kim and Kanye's Rumored Wedding Venue

by Avid Thinker April 18, 2014

The Château Louis XIV was constructed between 2008 and 2011, and sits about 20 minutes outside of Paris. The Chateau with a modern twist is meant to resemble a 17th century castle, with all of the comforts of the 21st. Kim and Kanye toured the property on Sunday, and reportedly looked pleased while strolling around the grounds and talking with the staff.

The property features many odes to the Palace of Versailles, like the Chariot of Apollo fountain sculpture, sprawling gardens, and decadent rooms reminiscent of the interiors of the famed monument. Kim and Kanye reportedly had their eye on Versailles initially; however, the palace denied that the wedding was going to take place there.

Château Louis XIV was designed by renowned French architect Pierre Bortolussi and built by Cogemad for a reported $200 million dollars. "People are probably assuming we're going to have this massive wedding," Kim told Vogue. "And I think that it will be — but intimate. Two hundred people — just all of our closest friends — a special night for us and all the people that really love us and that have supported us."
