Here is a list of most common necklines for bridal gown;

  • Bateau or Boat neckline — it has a high, wide, slightly curved neckline that pass the collarbones and hang on both shoulders. It is close to straight across from the tip of the shoulder and it gives plenty of coverage.

  • Halter neckline—it wraps around the back of the neck to create deep armholes. Often also a backless style, which is very sexy.

  • V-Neck —it is formed by two diagonal lines from the shoulders that meet on the chest creating a V shape. The depth of the V can vary, ranging from demure styles to plunging.

  • Off-the-shoulder — this is similar to boat neckline but is significantly lower, below the shoulders and collar bone. It accentuates the shoulders and neck of the wearer.

  • Strapless — normally it is straight across. This is not recommended for women with small busts.

  • Sweetheart neckline—It has a curved bottom edge that is concave down and usually doubly scalloped to resemble the top half of a heart. It emphasizes the cleavage.
